PAWS is focusing fundraising efforts to securing much needed property on which to build our permanent sanctuary, food bank and medical clinic. We are actively working with Brokers for Charity to locate and purchase 5+ acres of property in the East Valley. We will have home-like areas for unadoptable animals (dogs, cats, horses, etc) to live out their lives feeling happy, care-free, and loved. There will be space for pregnant mothers rescued from the euthanasia list to give birth, animals with medical issues or behavior issues will have space for needed treatment and seniors will be able to live out their lives there. Low or no income individuals in the community will be able to receive assistance from our food bank and medical clinic, so as to prevent those animals from ending up in the shelter system and to keep the animal with their loving families. We will also have an area on-site where the community can come for humane education classes on various animal welfare topics. Because we are a 501(c)(3) charity dependent on donations, we would like to have consistent revenue streams which we could generate income from, such as an onsite café & thrift store, by offering equine assisted therapy sessions (Dr. Eva is certified through EAGALA), and depending on the size of the property, by offering public horse boarding, public dog training classes to name just a few. Having the property will enable PAWS to continue rescue efforts while at the same getting to the core of the problem of the shelter crowding & subsequent euthanasia list. To help us reach our goal of purchasing and maintaining the property in 2012, PAWS will need to raise approximately $100,000.
We are working with a great organization, Brokers for Charity who has a great program for non-profits. Buying or selling real estate? This can benefit our charity! They connect you with quality residential and commercial real estate professionals throughout the United States and Canada and donate 10% of the commission to the nonprofit of your choice. This is where PAWS comes in! There are no costs for their services.
As a non-profit organization, PAWS relies on the kindness of those in our community to help pay for the care needed by our animals. Many of the animals we rescue are in good health, but occasionally some need immediate medical treatment involving surgery or expensive medication.
